Select Program
CYSA Changes
The biggest question
parents and players
alike want to know is
how Select level soccer
differs from
recreational level
soccer. Simply put,
Select is a more
competitive level of
soccer than
recreational. The time
commitment from both
players and parents is
significantly higher
than the recreational
level. Also. at the
recreational level,
Coaches provide the
overall skills and
knowledge of the game.
Conversely, the Select
level Coaches
incorporate the use of a
professional trainer to
enhance the skill level
of the players.
Select level soccer is
not for everyone and
that is ok. Some simply
play for the pleasure of
the sport and enjoy the
recreational level. For
those who desire
continuous improvement
of their skills and are
considering playing the
sport at the high
school, college level
and beyond, the Select
program is a great step
in their playing future.
